Chicago White Sox sued over hit and run death
The Chicago White Sox and the owner of a Joliet bar are being sued the the family of a woman who was killed in by a hit and run driver after leaving the bar on Aug. 7, 2008.
The suit alleges that Melissa Lech, 20 of Joliet, was being served alcohol while attending a White Sox game. After leaving the game, Lech was drinking at the City of Champions Sports Bar & Grill in Joliet, She was struck and killed by a car in a hit and run.
The suit names Chisox Corp, Chicago White Sox, Ltd., At Your Services, LLC, Illinois Sports Facilities Authority, Illinois Sportservice Inc., and SDI Security Inc., "for failing to prevent her from drinking and properly check her id."
The suit also names the owner of the bar, Filcorp Ltd and Leopoldo Robles and Marsha Ortega for serving Lech alcohol.
